Painting/Spray Booth Exhaust Waste Heat Recovery

Project Background

The auto-parts painting line is equipped with a 180°C curing oven, and the exhaust gas was previously discharged directly.

Challenges

Exhaust waste heat was heavily wasted; extra cooling was needed before VOC treatment, adding energy use.

Solution

Install at the drying-oven exhaust:Rotary Heat Exchanger, recovering heat to preheat the combustion air for the drying oven.

Results

Natural gas consumption reduced by 22%, while also reducing the VOC-treatment-stage load, with clear overall benefits.
