With the advancement of pharmaceutical technology and the continuous upgrading of product technology, as well as a large number of foreign-funded pharmaceutical companies setting up manufacturing bases in China and the substantial improvement of industry standards, higher requirements have been put forward for environmental temperature, humidity and cleanliness in the production process. This requires us to provide a reliable and stable air conditioning system, especially for air environments with low humidity requirements.
At present, there are four main ways of conventional air dehumidification, ventilation dehumidification, cooling dehumidification, liquid dehumidifier dehumidification and solid adsorbent dehumidification. In the air conditioning dehumidification system, cooling dehumidification and solid adsorbent dehumidification are the main means. Cooling dehumidification has a relatively good effect under the condition that the humidity requirement of the environment is not very high, with stable performance and low energy consumption. It is currently widely used. However, in places where the production environment has high humidity requirements, it is not economical to use cooling dehumidification. Now, the commonly used low-humidity environment manufacturing method is to use adsorption technology to adsorb and dehumidify the moisture in the air to obtain dry air. The method of using silica gel or molecular sieve adsorption dehumidification has gradually become the mainstream. Adsorption dehumidification devices can be divided into two types: adsorption tower and rotary adsorption dehumidifier. The latter, namely the rotary dehumidification technology, will not be affected by the air dew point, and has a large dehumidification capacity. It is particularly suitable for low humidity conditions. It has been accepted and mastered by domestic enterprises and has made great progress.
Humidity requirements in the pharmaceutical industry
Most pharmaceutical production plants require a stable environment in the production workshop throughout the year, especially strict requirements on the temperature, humidity, air cleanliness, airflow organization, pressure balance and other air conditioning parameters of the production environment. Different from the requirements of other constant temperature and humidity environment systems, some pharmaceutical processes have strict requirements on the accuracy of air humidity. For the configuration of the air conditioning system, the system is required to have both summer dehumidification and winter humidification functions.
Domestic air conditioning manufacturers have no difficulty in ensuring the temperature, cleanliness and large air supply volume of dry rooms, but the difficulty lies in low humidity control. Controlling the humidity at 50~70% can be solved by air conditioning in summer, but the humidity in some pharmaceutical processes is 20~30%. General air conditioners and compression refrigeration dehumidifiers cannot meet this humidity requirement. To meet this requirement, solid adsorbent dehumidification must be used. The commonly used rotary dehumidification technology is silica gel or molecular sieve rotary dehumidifier. Molecular sieve dehumidification rotary wheels are suitable for extremely low occasions where the air humidity is usually required to be 1%-10%, such as mobile phone lithium battery manufacturing, special plastics industry, etc. Silica gel dehumidification rotary wheels are suitable for general low humidity occasions.
