The dehumidification section of a rotary dehumidifier operates mainly on the principles of adsorption and regeneration. Its working process is roughly as follows:

  1. Adsorption SectionAfter pretreatment (such as filtration and heating), the air enters the wheel section of the dehumidifier. The wheel is filled with hygroscopic materials (such as silica gel or molecular sieves) that have strong hydrophilicity and can adsorb moisture from the air. As air flows through the wheel, moisture is captured by the hygroscopic material, thereby reducing the air humidity.
  2. Regeneration SectionWhen the wheel rotates to the regeneration section, the hygroscopic material needs to release the adsorbed moisture. At this point, the wheel achieves regeneration by heating or by introducing low-humidity air. The heated air passes through the wheel, causing the moisture in the hygroscopic material to evaporate and be carried away, forming a moist exhaust stream.
  3. Cycle ProcessThe rotation of the wheel causes the adsorption and regeneration processes to alternate continuously, thereby achieving a sustained dehumidification effect. The wheel design usually maintains a good balance between high-efficiency dehumidification and energy consumption.

Owing to its high efficiency and energy-saving characteristics, the rotary dehumidifier is widely used in industrial, commercial, and household settings.
