Due to the powerful dehumidification ability of the rotary dehumidifier with ultra-low dew point, it has been widely used in many industrial fields such as chemical, pharmaceutical, electronic, food, warehousing, etc. in recent years. According to the technical characteristics of the rotary dehumidifier, it is particularly suitable for low-temperature and humid environments and occasions with high requirements for dew point temperature. Conventional mechanical refrigeration dehumidification is limited in its application in the above environments due to the limitation of evaporation temperature and the risk of frost on the evaporator surface at low temperatures.

The humidity problem is a common phenomenon in China's domestic hydropower plant buildings, especially underground buildings with large storage capacity and low water temperature. The wall temperature of the cave in the plant is low, and the wall temperature of various technical water supply and drainage pipes is low, which easily leads to condensation. The seepage of the cave wall rock mass itself and the moisture dissipation of the open ditch in the plant aggravate the degree of this phenomenon. This kind of occasion is the short board of refrigeration and dehumidification, which is precisely the strength of rotary dehumidification.

The hydropower station industry has long adopted cooling dehumidification, and the application of rotary dehumidification in the hydropower station industry is still in its infancy. Due to the unsatisfactory cooling and dehumidification effects of some power stations, especially large storage capacity, low water temperature underground power stations, the air in the plant is humid and condensation is obvious, and there is a need for dehumidification system transformation. In response to industry needs, rotary dehumidification has certain application prospects with its own characteristics and technical advantages. At the same time, in the design of new power stations, rotary dehumidification may be used as a comparative solution.

It is understood that some of the hydropower stations currently being designed in China will adopt rotary dehumidification technology. In the dehumidification system renovation of the completed power stations, the Hunan Dongjiang Hydropower Station adopted a rotary dehumidification unit. After the renovation, the system operates well and the dehumidification effect is obvious. The dehumidification system renovation of the Jinping Sanbanxi Hydropower Station in Guizhou is underway, and it is also planned to adopt a combined dehumidification method that combines rotary dehumidification and air-conditioning dehumidification.
